About Me

I write about science, nature, and history for children and adults. As a biologist, avid naturalist, and sometime-historian, I love to immerse myself in my topic—whether by sifting through sheaves of old letters, kayaking an entire river’s length, slogging through knee-deep mud, or coming eyeball to eyeball with venomous sea creatures and dazzling insects. I live in a half-wild sliver of Massachusetts with my husband and sons.
